Rosina cats
Happy New Year everyone! It's now 2007 :) How time flies, huh?I just want to say Congratulations to my friend Meagan who had a baby girl last week! Welcome to the world, Joslin!
I promised Annika I would post a picture of the "snow ball" I got from Henrik, with the Rosina cats in it. So, that's today's picture :) Actually it's two pics put together... first before I shook it to make it snow and the other pic after ;) It is so cute and I love the little song it plays when I wind it up.
Time to go to bed soon I suppose.
I have managed to toss the days around completely again :( I can't sleep at night. And when I finally do, I am so tired I can't get up until after 1P.M. I hate that... makes every day feel ruined. It's always like that when I have nothing special to do during the day now that I have Xmas vacation. Nothing I have to do or attend. Oh well I'll try to change that. Somehow.

Christmas
Christmas is over and I survived.. Lol =) It went pretty well, although it felt kind of exhausting to manage to be at three places on the same day. But I felt that it would be good to have it over with and be able to relax on Christmas day and not have to take the car out that day too. Two days before Christmas eve (the 22nd) we went to Henrik's parents because it was his mom's birthday. We spent the evening there and had dinner and played a new board game that we had bought the day before. It was actually pretty nice. I gave Henrik's mom one of the scrap pages I had made (one with pics of her and Henrik when he was little)... it seemed to touch her ;) She even got a tear in her eye. I have no idea if it was because she misses Henrik as a baby or if she liked the present so much. Maybe both huh? hehe :)
On the 23rd, me and Henrik had to go out for a panic shopping spree. It was time to get the last Christmas presents... 2 for his parents, and 2 for my grandparents. It went well. And then we spent the evening with his parents again.. had Christmas food for dinner, finished that board game and watched a movie (Luther... I didn't like it) and then we went to bed kind of early (for being me lol) to be able to survive the next day haha!
24th... Christmas Eve. D-Day. We had lunch with Henrik's parents... then we opened presents. We got some nice stuff that we needed... a large lamp for the living room (with a dimmer... not sure if that's the right word in English), and some necessary things for the household... Henrik got money for a stetoscope he needs to buy, and I got some random things like shower gel and stuff like that. From my boyfriend I got the cutest thing... a "snow ball" (you know those kinds with water in them and when you turn it upside down it looks like it's snowing), with a Rosina Wachtmeister cat in it! I LOVE those Rosina cats, but they are really expensive because it Goebel.. It is on a kind of porcelain base, and you can wind it up and it plays some classic song. I was SO happy with it =) He also gave me a DVD (Hoodwinked), and some small other things.
Then it was time to got to my grandparents. We picked up my mom and she came with us. My dad, uncle, uncle's wife and son was there too. It felt kind of tense... I just don't feel comfortable around them for some reason. It feels weird to celebrate Christmas with people I don't see the rest of the year. I only did it because my grandmother wanted it this way. I got some nice presents anyway =) A cool book about WW2, DVD (the Little Mermaid), clothes, money, gift card for a clothing store and some random stuff. We were there for like three hours.. had coffee, and then continued to my mom's house. It was getting kind of late now and we were tired. So we didn't stay there for more than an hour and a half or so. I wish we could have stayed later, but luckily, my mom was also with us at my grandparents so it was okay. We got really nice presents from my mom as well. I got one of those Rolf Lidbergh trolls that I love. Clothes, money, and so on.
When we came home late at night we were exhausted to say the least. I have hardly ever been so tired!! It feels good that it's a year left until next Christmas now =P
What else is new.. well... My good online friend Meagan went into the hospital the night of the 26th to have her baby! I haven't heard from her since then, and I hope everything went well =) She lives in Texas so I will have to rely on the internet to hear from her. I bet she is exhausted after the delivery!

It's just around the corner
Christmas is just around the corner now. Not tomorrow, but the day after that, it's D-Day. However, me and Henrik are leaving today already to go to his parents. It's him mom's birthday today so they wanted to have us there. I am not too thrilled to spend two nights at their house, but I'll try to survive. Maybe it will turn out okay after all! I hope so ;)So we're leaving in a couple of hours, and are spending the whole day with them tomorrow. And on sunday, we'll have some Christmas lunch there (I think, since it will be hard to have dinner at more than one place), and then we are heading to my mom in Sala. We'll open presents and have Christmas dinner. And then it's time to go on to my grandparents' (on my father's side). Hopefully my mom will come with us. My dad will also be there, as well as my uncle, his wife and their son Alexander. I haven't met my uncle and his family in ages! We don't live that far away from each other, but we just don't have a good contact. The weird thing is that I'm Alexander's godmother... so we should be closer. I don't know, it's just weird. I would rather not spend Christmas with them now either since it feels so weird. But if I don't my grandmother will get so disappointed. So since this holiday is all about pleasing others (ehm), I'll just do as everyone else says. Needless to say, I will be happy when it's all over!!
Best wishes to all of you - I hope you'll have a great Christmas!
Today's picture: I Christmas card I made and sent out to mine and Henrik's parents =D Haha, do you like it? It's our fish Atarax. I know you all will probably think it's weird but we treat him like a little kid lol! He feels so special. Atarax is a siamese fighting fish (and yes he has an attitude)... well, what can I say. I am allergic to animals with fur, and this little fellow is a good substitute although he would not be keen on beeing picked up and cuddled =P

Freedom
I'm free now - Christmas vacation has started as of today :) *yay*. We had our last lesson this morning where we got our tests back (I am very pleased, it turned out much better than I had hoped), and talked to the teacher about grades - I will get a VG. I must say I am very happy with that! I never thought I would manage to go back to school, so this season has definitely been a step forward for me. I have felt overwhelmed a lot of times, but in the end I DID IT :) And I have to remember that I only took this course to have something to do and get some kind of structure in my weeks. I tend to always feel that whatever I do it's not enough. But I'll have to let go of those thoughts somehow. Anyway, it feels like I really deserve this Christmas break now to boost up some energy if possible. So, now I'm sitting here waiting for the mailman. It's almost 1 P.M and he still hasn't arrived. These past few days he has been very late. I want mail!! LOL! That's always one of the best part of the day. I'm a shop-a-holic (thanks to ebay and other places online) so it's always exciting with mail for me. Yesterday I got the very last season (or should I say last 5 movies) of the tv series Little House on the Prairie. I am still "only" on season 8, and then I have season 9 to watch as well before this one. But I got it for a pretty good price on a Swedish auction site so I am happy with it :) Now I don't have to worry about buying it from the US since customs have been rude in the past and taken out fees for some of the box sets :(
I also got a bunch of history magazines yesterday. Got those too from Tradera. I LOVE to read history mags (I thanked my teacher today for waking up my interest in history lol. She truly has been a good teacher! made sure to let her know that - and YES the grades had already been set so I didn't do it for that reason haha). AND I also got a magazine which I bought months ago from a person on ebay. She charged me $12 for shipping when in fact it was only $6.50! How rude is that? I will have to send a complaint to her, because for $12 she should have sent it by air, not surface mail.
Today's picture: The Ingalls family from Little House on the prairie. This picture is from the first season though.

Finally
I had a really big history test 3 days ago, and I am SO happy to be able to put it behind me. As usual, I ended up studying for it in the very last minute (NOT smart), and had to spend the entire (and I really mean Entire) day with my head buried in those books and papers. It was way too much at once! Imagine a test on ALL this: World War 1, World War 2, Russian revolution, the Cold war, the Finnish winter war, and everything else going on in the world up till today like the Cuba crizis, wars in Bosnia, and Yugoslavia etc. etc.. The entire 20th Century to be exact. =/ I think I did okay on the test though. We'll see on Tuesday when I get it back. It has been nice to be able to relax this weekend without any more tests on my mind. I only have the Tuesday lesson left, and then the course is over :) Yay me for actually pulling through going back to school. And I have come to love history. I never thought I would! I mean I have always been interested in reading about WW2, but now I really feel an interest for everything else as well! I even bought another History book and some history magazines... AND sent in a subscription for one of the mags... Lol :) I hate to study even if it is interesting (just because I HAVE to do it then... I am weird I know), but when I actually get to read about it on my own terms it's just SO interesting!!
And Christmas is coming up really soon... I bet nobody has missed that. Although I have no Christmas spirit what so ever. There is no snow at all outside (very unusual since I live in Sweden and there should be snow by now)... I guess it's all about the global warming effect huh =/ I have hardly bought any Christmas presents at all either. Me and Henrik went to town yesterday and it was soooo crowded. I'm not setting my foot there again until Christmas is over that's for sure! It stresses me out when there is too much people like that. We only managed to get one present (for my dad)... I guess we'll buy the rest at some mall or so.
Don't have any suitable picture to post today, so it will be one of my boy Gordon :) He look pretty cute with that pine cone in his mouth don't ya think? ;)

Super Quads
Here I am, blogging way too early for my taste. It's 9.30 A.M, but I've been up since 7. Can't even remember the last time I was up so early! It was not my choice of course, but I had a doctors appointment at 8.15. Man, I didn't even think they were open THAT early lol! All in all, it went well. Now I just feel so sleepy.... But I don't wanna go to bed again and ruin this day. When my boyfriend gets home from school at around 12.30, it's time to head to Sala. It's my grandmother's birthday today :) And of course I want to go there for a visit then. She is turning... let's see... 78. Yeah, I find it so impressive of all the things she has experienced so far! Even WW2. It's unbelievable but really interesting! Sometimes I wish I had been born in those olden days. Things were not easy, I am sure, but I still believe people were happier back then. They cherished things more. Sometimes it feels like I don't belong where I am today. Oh well :)A few days ago, I got another super-cool surprise in the mail! 4 programs about the Mathias Quadruplets; the "Super Quads" in three parts and one brittish documentary :) Yay, it made me so happy! Mr. Mathias is SO nice!! And his little girls are really really sweet and adorable! I love to watch shows on multiples (duh), and this set of quads is very special. They are identical quadruplets! Grace, Emily, Mary Claire and Anna. And they were not conceived by in vitro fertilization! They were conceived spontaneously. A once in like 11 million chances (or was it even more?). So they are very special indeed :)
